Corona tests for travelers
Do you need a PCR test for travel? Many countries have certain requirements to prevent the COVID-19 infections. Think of a statement of a negative test. At Coronalab we offer PCR tests with travel declaration. This states that you have taken a negative corona test. A negative PCR test is required for almost all travel destinations. Not all countries accept the antigen rapid test for travel. Countries do have different rules about the validity and duration of the certificate. Therefore, always read the rules about the country you are going to carefully. For that you can view one of our pages about the country in question.
Please note: the situation changes every day. There may be deviations and you are responsible yourself to check the entry restrictions for the destination country with the local authorities and the tour company. This also applies to the test method that is required.

We always advise you to take a good look at the travel advice given by the Dutch government . Also make sure you follow the information from your travel company or airline. They will inform you of specific requirements that may be made. We also advise you to take a good look at the travel information and the state of affairs of your travel destination.
The RIVM website provides a lot of information about COVID-19. You can also consult the website of the government of the destination country. Current information about the situation per country can be found on the websites of the government , the National Coordination Center for Travelers Advice , IATA and those of your travel organization and/or airline. Several countries have made COVID-19 testing mandatory for people who want to enter the country. Coronalab helps travelers offer COVID-19 tests that we analyze with priority. This means you always have the results the same day .
How our healthcare professionals work
Our doctor or nurse will take some mucus off with a throat and nasal swab. Our laboratory analyzes the material. The doctor checks the results and creates a certificate that confirms your COVID-19 PCR status.
What is a corona test?
We use a corona test to determine whether you are currently carrying the coronavirus. In countries with an entry restriction, this is necessary to avoid mandatory quarantine. There are different ways of testing. For travel, the PCR test is required. On the basis of this test, we determine whether the virus is in the pharynx or nasal cavity.
Before you can travel, you must be able to submit a negative PCR test with a medical certificate. In some cases you have to send these in advance.
Coronalab (Microbe&Lab) has an ISO certified laboratory at the Science Park in Amsterdam. Our laboratory is approved by the RIVM for COVID-19 PCR testing.

You can always request the results of your test from us the same day. You will receive an email from us when this is ready. Usually you will receive this around 11 pm, this can also be earlier. The certificate is signed by one of our doctors.
The costs for a test including a certificate are EUR 69 per person. You pay this amount in advance in our planning tool .

Frequently asked questions about the PCR test
When will I get the result?
At Coronalab you always get the results the same day. The results of the PCR test are often available for request before 11 p.m. Isn’t this the case? Please contact us via the email address firstname.lastname@example.org
Will I receive a certificate with the result?
Coronalab offers a COVID-19 PCR certificate for travelers. This is a personal certificate and we state the data on the PCR certificate that you provide us with when you book, as well as the test method. So check these carefully before you book. This also applies to the exact requirement in terms of PCR test method. Travelers are responsible for passing on the correct method.
We recommend that you always print the document and take it with you when you travel. More information can be found on our travel advice page.
What time is noted on your certificate?
The certificate shows the time when the certificate was generated.
Is your PCR certificate valid everywhere?
You are often asked for the PCR certificate from an approved lab. We have been approved by the RIVM for the COVID-19 PCR tests and are allowed to perform these tests.
Additional requirements may be imposed. For example, China has made a selection of test locations. And some countries require different test method. The traveler is responsible for checking whether the test method or other health declaration is required for the country of destination.

How can I make an appointment?
Can I cancel my appointment?
Yes, this is possible up to 24 hours before the test appointment. You can do this yourself via the secure environment. You will find a link to the secure environment in the confirmation email. More information about cancellation can be found in Article 7 of our terms and conditions .
Do I have to bring my passport or ID card?
If you wish to receive a travel certificate, please enter your passport or ID card number when booking. Please bring your ID with you to the appointment. We use your passport/ID number on the certificates and we need to verify these travel documents. So don’t forget to take this with you.
A driver’s license is therefore not sufficient.
How do I receive the result?
Your results will be shared with you via Multifactor Authentication and a secure connection. You can request it via ‘request results’.
Coronalab only calls if the result is positive.
How long is the result valid?
Countries have different requirements regarding the validity of a PCR test. More information can be found on our travel advice page.
Please check the specific requirement for your destination at all times. This prevents you from arriving with an expired statement. You are responsible for checking the entry restrictions for the destination country with the local authorities and the travel company. This also applies to the test method that is required.
In which language is the result?
You will receive the result in English.
At which locations can testing be carried out?

How is the PCR test administered?
We take the test with a throat and nose swab. This is in accordance with the RIVM guideline.
We don’t do a gargle test. For some travelers, we do custom testing methods if requested by the country and local authorities.
Should children be tested?
Yes. However, there are many differences between countries regarding the age of PCR testing for children. We recommend that you check this carefully.
Our doctors take your child into account during the testing. We understand that it is exciting for your child. Prepare your child as best you can.
When will I be called in case of a positive result?
If the result is positive, you will be called within 24 hours.
Corona test for flying
Do you need a corona test for flying? When you travel by plane abroad, you need a negative corona test in many countries. Take a good look at the current rules for the country you are traveling to. This varies from country to country and may change. In almost all cases you need a travel certificate. At Coronalab you will receive a travel statement in the event of a negative test. Need a corona test for traveling by car?
Do you want to travel abroad by car? For that you need a negative pcr test, vaccination certificates are also increasingly accepted. The exact rules may differ per country, check the website of the government or, for example, the ANWB. Always check in advance what the current rules are in the country you want to travel through. The fines if you do not comply with these rules can be substantial. So plan your car trip well and don’t forget to look at all the countries you have to drive through. This way you avoid nasty surprises.
